What kind of coverage am I eligible for?

 

We accept private pay, medicare, medical and many HMO plans. For more information about eligibility, please contact our admissions department.

What should I leave at home?

 

If you have money and or valuables, please leave them at home. If you must bring it with you, it is very important that you inform your nurse so that it may be securely locked and logged on the inventory sheet.

What sort of activities can I look forward to?

 

Routine social activities include coffee, news updates, exercise, and relaxation programs. Our residents can also expect to be entertained through an array of guest speakers / musicians. We hold ice-cream socials, movie nights, etc. Activities and outings are always listed on the monthly calendar of events. Our Activity Director meets with each of our residents to discuss planned activities.

 
Is there someone that handles discharge planning?

 

At Atherton Regency, we work hard to get our residents well and aim to achieve independence. Our Director of Social Services will work with you to determine a discharge plan from day one. Our Social Services department is open during normal business hours Monday-Friday from 8:30 - 5:00 pm.

 

What should I plan to bring during my stay?

 

Plan to bring some comfortable clothing, a pair of walking shoes, etc. We provide laundry services during your stay as well as an optional robe and slippers available upon request.

Do you allow smoking?

 

Smoking is not allowed on the premises. As a health and wellness provider, we advocate for the health and well-being of all residents. All areas including the patio are none smoking.

What if I have a grievance?

 

We strive to be extremely proactive with addressing the concerns of our residents and have a very robust grievance policy. Speak to an IDT member and or let your unit manager know about the problem you are having and we will surely do everything in our power to address it and communicate back to you.

 

How long is your therapy program?

 

The length of stay varies, but residents can typically expect the program to run anywhere between 1-8 weeks on average depending on the specific goals. We aim to ensure that our residents achieve the highest level of function to ensure a safe and seamless transition back to home.

What if I have a particular food preferences?

 

We have a full-service kitchen staff lead by our Executive Chef. A Registered Dietician assesses the specific nutrition needs of every resident upon admission. At Atherton Regency, we run on a cycle menu. If at any point you are not satisfied with the planned meal, you may always substitute it with our alternate or make special requests.

 
What time are meals served?

 

Breakfast is served at 7 am. Lunch is served at 12 noon, and dinner is served at 5 pm. Once a month we have a special Candlelight Dinner event for our residents. Please allow a 30-minute margin for the mealtimes mentioned above as the carts come out at different times depending on the location of the room.

 

Do you provide Wifi?

 

We are excited to announce that all rooms, as well as common areas, are equipped with WiFi access. WiFi is complimentary during your stay at Atherton Regency. You will be provided the network name and password upon admission. You may also contact guest services if you forget.

 
Do you provide long term care?

 

We do have long term care options available but typically run a waiting list. If you are interested in long term care, speak with our admissions department for availability.  

 

We are available to do tours 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm.
